Treatment time at Saffron Health & Beauty *

                                                                    Hi Everyone,

Hope all is well. I am running around like a headless chicken this week trying to get the last bits and bobs sorted for heading to London on Friday, the excitement is definitely kicking in now! As I am working backstage I don't have to worry too much about being uber stylish so that takes the pressure off a little bit!  A few days ago I popped into Saffron beauty salon in Letterkenny to do a review of a few treatments and in this blog post, I am going to explain what I had done and show a you a few photos of the salon which is beautiful.

Saffron have 2 salons in Letterkenny, one in the Mount Errigal hotel and the other on O' Boyce's corner which is where I attended. The treatments I had done were a medicated cleansing treatment deep cleansing Dermalogica facial, threading and gel nails - I didn't know myself whenever I walked out haha!

There is a really friendly atmosphere when you walk in and I was greeted by the lovely Claudia who asked me to fill out a consultation form ahead of my facial. Amanda who is the manager of the salon performed the facial and I was really looking forward to it as my skin was in need of a bit of TLC. The bed was pre-heated which made the experience very relaxing and the facial consisted of a deep cleanse, exfoliation, mask, steam facial and also a skin analysis which was really helpful as I now know what products my skin suits.

Amanda explained everything so I knew what she was doing and why - you can be guaranteed to be in safe hands if you book an appointment with her as you can always tell when someone is an expert in their field. The Dermalogica products are amazing and I received a start up kit suited to my skin's needs so I will let you all know how I get on with them.

I also had threading done on my upper lip and eyebrows. I heard about this process before but never tried it as I was scared that it would be too painful. Thankfully it wasn't as bad as I thought and Amanda put me at ease throughout so it was over before I knew it!  Threading is an ancient method that was most commonly practised in Eastern countries such as Egypt and India but is now becoming very popular in the West. It removes the entire hair follicle and depending on your hair growth normally lasts 4-6 weeks. If you aren't sure how it works, a cotton thread is pulled along the unwanted hair in a twisting motion and this lifts the hair right out of the follicle. The girls in Saffron are trained threading specialists and I found the experience to be a lot more hygienic compared to waxing which is what I would normally get done.

I was most excited about getting the gel nails applied and Claudia was my technician. She done an amazing job and I couldn't be happier with how they turned out. At the beginning we weren't sure if I would be able to go through with having them applied as my own nails were very weak but they are still going strong so Claudia, thank you! She is very talented at what she does and extremely easy to talk to which is a trait I love in a person! There is an array of gel nail colours to choose from and after a bit of deliberation I narrowed it down to this lovely emerald green shade.

The pedicure area pictured below - I wouldn't mind having that chair in my bedroom!

Saffron use MAC make-up and I think that this mirror is dressing room goals!

I would like to thank the girls in Saffron for a lovely afternoon and if you would like to arrange an appointment with them you can contact the salon on 0749123006. Their website is www.saffronhealthandbeauty.com and you can also find them on Facebook HERE
