Shapewear - Sculpting that figure! *

Hi Everyone! 

It is finally the bank holiday weekend! Does anyone have any exciting plans? I cannot wait to SLEEP as the past few days have been crazy so mine will be a pretty wild one as you can tell! 

Today I am covering a topic that is a little different but hopefully of interest now that we will soon be approaching Christmas Party Season and the LBD's will be re-surfacing from the wardrobe. I don't know about anyone else, but I find it re-assuring to know that everything is secure and there will be no lumps and bumps making dodgy appearances! In saying all of that, this post contains 20 different shape wear garments that will suck in the waist, lift the bum and hide all lumps and bumps (if you are lucky enough not to have them then......go away! I joke ;)

Honestly, I had no idea there were so many different styles! When I met with Lorna who is the Shapewear Advisor in Mc Elhinneys (a female Gok Wan for Lingerie) I was inundated with information about each garment and I left the store with FOUR A4 pages of notes! The intriguing thing is they all look relatively similar but serve different purposes so it was interesting finding out about each one. 

I am 99.9% sure you should find a style to suit your particular outfit and I have outlined the role of each one so that you can get an idea of what it will do for you. The Smooth Away Torsette Bodybriefer from the Naomi and Nicole collection is ideal if you are looking for control around the waist, midriff, tummy, hips and back. Another bonus for wearing it under a dress is that the silky fabric is seamless which will prevent any lines from showing through

The Hi Waist Brief from Miraclesuit is designed with extra firm control that meaning that you will have a super smooth silhouette under clothes. This particular style is a very comfortable fit and it also contains the boning and silicone insets meaning you won't have to worry about slipping down while you boogie the night away! ;) 

Spanx is a brand we all associate with shapewear and here is the Mid-Thigh Bodysuit. This is a very lightweight sheer shaper that boasts a super control design for extra tummy control and it also features criss cross straps for an extra slimming look from all angles. Who could complain about that?! I will have 10 of them please haha!

I included the Spanx Power Mama Shaper as I don't think many women are aware it even exists! This garment provides slimming support for those who are expecting. The mid-thigh shaper has no leg band preventing bulges on the thigh while the pregnancy panel has under belly support and this will comfortably reduce any pressure. The best thing is that when purchasing you simply choose your pre-pregnancy size and the shaper grows with your bump!

Looking to create an hourglass silhouette that would rival Beyonce?! That might be a little unrealistic but here I present you with the Spanx Higher Power Brief! This offers maximum comfort and a high level of shaping and would be ideal for fitted clothing such as tops/dresses etc

The Rise Waist Shaper from Naomi and Nicole focuses primarily on your waist, hips and thighs. It is designed to smooth and fit any body type due to the silicone lining With the adjustable waist, you can place it where you feel it fits comfortable and works best. It is almost as good as invisible under clothing and is ideal for tight fitting clothing such as dresses or tops.

This Control Dress is from the brand Bodyfit and I have included it as a cheaper alternative to the Spanx brand as it also smooths and shapes the stomach, bottom, thighs and back creating a flattering silhouette and you can wear your own bra with it which provides maximum comfort.
